On December 2, 2025, Bordeaux City Hall will host a round table and photo exhibition dedicated to Haiti, highlighting initiatives that receive little media coverage. Organized by Agrisud International and Initiative Développement, with the support of the City of Bordeaux, this event invites the public to take a different look at Haiti.
Behind the images of natural disasters, political crisis, and gang violence, there is another story: that of a country that is building itself up every day thanks to the commitment of its citizens.
The event will be attended by Céline Papin, Vice President of International Relations and Citizen Dialogue for the City of Bordeaux, and Dominique Delpuech, Diplomatic Advisor to the Prefect of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The roundtable discussion will bring together representatives of the two NGOs as well as members of the Haitian diaspora in Bordeaux to share their experiences in the field and their views on actions that strengthen resilience:
- agricultural initiatives that provide income and greater food security;
- community projects that strengthen social cohesion;
- local governance approaches that support community autonomy.
To enrich these discussions, poet and playwright Rolaphton Mercure will present an artistic intervention, offering a committed perspective on Haitian reality.
A photo exhibition will also highlight the actions carried out over several years in northwestern Haiti by Agrisud International and Initiative Développement.
