CONTEXT

Through its partnership with Agrisud, Club Med has been progressively modifying its supply chain since 2009 to create and share more values locally.

In Morocco, the project operates in 2 geographical areas: the Asni valley, located forty kilometers from Marrakech, and in the palm grove of Marrakech.

In the Asni valley, there are two major constraints: the lack of information and training on orchard management, and the poor exploitation of fruit production on the market.

In the palm grove, it is the lack of crop diversification and unsafe access to water that severely penalize the development of agricultural activities.

Agrisud has been working with its partners since 2009 in Asni and since 2015 in the palm grove of Marrakech in support of 2 cooperatives for a quality fruit and vegetable supply.

OBJECTIVES

Developing local supply chains according to a win-win principle:

RESULTS

  • 2 family farm cooperatives assisted in the development of their activities: Tifawine Cooperative and Guindo Cooperative
  • 2 local and agroecological supply chains established with Club Med Marrakech
  • 2 new sales channels as a result: partnerships established with SOS Children’s Villages and Dar’Tifl orphanage
