In addition to our review of the past year, Agrisud's latest activity report highlights a number of solid partnerships that anchor our action in the territories. These partnerships are crucial if we are to face up to uncertainties and broaden the impact of our actions.
Against a backdrop of challenges to the values of international solidarity, threats to food security and the climate crisis, Agrisud continues to work alongside its partners.
In 2024, more than 20,000 family-run agricultural VSEs were supported to strengthen their activities in the long term, i.e. 3,106 more than in 2023. This represents :
- 100,165 people lifted out of poverty
> 84,635 people in 2023
- 156 million € in sales generated by VSEs
> 77 million € in 2023
- 260,429 tonnes of food produced
> 220,051 tonnes in 2023
We also launched 5 of the 39 projects in 14 countries.
We were able to achieve these results thanks to the trust and support of numerous donors, notably the Agence Française de Développement, which co-finances our two multi-country programs, AGRITER and DELFI (see page 8 of the report). These programs, which structure our actions at 3 levels (VSE, sectors and territory), are complementary and give us the means to act more broadly in favor of sustainable agriculture that meets the needs of communities.
To illustrate our actions in concrete terms, we have given the floor to a few partners in Madagascar, Brazil, the Seychelles and Morocco (see pages 10-13 of the report). Extracts:
“We appreciate this valuable partnership which reinforces our action in favour of rural development”, João Paulo NIKOLAUS, Director of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension - CATI (Agricultural Technical Services of the State of São Paulo), partner in Brazil.
"This partnership is a decisive factor in the professionalization of industry players. It's one of the key elements for the sustainability of our supply chains" Caroline Nègre, Scientific and Sustainable Development Director - YSL Beauty, partner in Morocco.
