CALL FOR SOLIDARITY: Support farmers affected by the earthquake

Agrisud is mobilizing and working with its partners to set up a specific two-phase action: a period of support for reconstruction and a period to relaunch agricultural activities.

The funds raised will be used to set up reconstruction (housing and livestock infrastructure) and agricultural recovery programs, starting in October.

In the Municipality of Asni, the toll is particularly heavy. Many families are mourning the loss of a family member or neighbor. Houses, traditionally built in adobe, have collapsed; infrastructure has been damaged.

Beyond the immediate dramatic consequences, there is no doubt that this agricultural region will be seriously affected over time. The apple harvest, families’ main production, cannot be ensured this year. Yet it represents the annual source of income that enables them to meet their needs.

Currently, our teams are identifying all the needs to prepare for the post-emergency period.
