CONTEXT
Through its partnership with Agrisud, Club Med has been progressively modifying its supply chain since 2009 to create and share more values locally.
In Seychelles, the aim is to strengthen the technical, economic, and organizational capacities of small family farms so that they can supply part of the local markets, as well as the Club Med village.
The challenges for these farms are numerous: diversification of production, improvement and maintenance of productivity in a context of high pest pressure, reduction of the use of chemicals… But the opportunity of a secure market is an effective lever.
Agrisud has been operating in Seychelles with its partners since 2022.
OBJECTIVES
Developing a local supply chain according to a win-win principle:
- Family farms benefit from secure sales channels and improve their practices to produce quality products, in quantity and regularity
- The Club Med village benefits from quality local agroecological products, traceability and a positive image valued with their customers
RESULTS
- 1 family farms association assisted in its development
- 1 local and agroecological supply chain established with the village
