CONTEXT
Agriculture is more than ever at the heart of the development challenges of the Itasy Region, due to climate and demographic risks, the weight of political uncertainty on the socio-economic context, and the difficulty of institutions in dealing with issues of food security, education and occupational integration.
Since 2012, actions in the field of Agricultural and Rural Training (ART) have been implemented within the framework of national public policies. To support their implementation, the Itasy Region and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region have decided to collaborate and have asked Agrisud to identify promising sectors, to guide the decisions in terms of training, and to strengthen the capacities of ART organizations on agroecological practices.
OBJECTIVES
Strengthening the stakeholders of the Agricultural and Rural Training (ART) for the implementation of training on agricultural practices adapted to the Itasy Region context.
RESULTS
- Training needs of the main agricultural occupations and sectors in the Itasy Region identified
- 1 training center strengthened in its ability to plan and implement its practices and training in agroecology
- 3 training institutions educated on agroecology
