CONTEXT

Within the framework of the Senegalese State’s policy, and more specifically the Emerging Senegal Plan whose axis number 1 targets the emergence and development of an inclusive and sustainable industrial sector, Enabel contributes to the establishment of an Agropole that covers 13 departments.

In order to set up this Agropole, four projects for agricultural sectors structuring are funded by Enabel and started in 2021. Implemented by NGOs or NGO consortiums, they aim to strengthen the agricultural production sector to enable them to seize opportunities for commercial outlets linked to the raw material needs of the companies that will set up in the Agropole.

The POP-ART project (Partnership OP-Agropole for a Territorial Economic Recovery) is one of the 4 projects for the sectors’ structuring. It is implemented by Agrisud in 5 departments: Fatick, Diourbel, Bambey, Gossas, and Mbacké.

OBJECTIVES

Professionalizing the farmers organizations and supporting the establishment of a balanced partnership with the Agropole Centre’s companies for the benefit of an efficient and sustainable agriculture.

  • 50 Professional Farmers Organizations (FOs) strengthened
