Fight against hunger World Day

October 16, 2009 :

This day reminds us that a billion people suffer from hunger or malnutrition.

This figure is constantly changing: what will be in 2050 when the world will have 9 billion people? Can we hope that all will eat correctly ?

A synopsis of CIRAD and INRA revealed that the objective could be achieved, but needs radical changes.

PARTNER MC2, the first accounting firm in northern France, is rallying alongside Agrisud to support the creation of very small enterprise in southern Morocco.

Capacity Builing Program in Madagascar

September 2009 :

The September 21 a new session of the Agrisud Capacity Building program was held for 12 days in Madagascar, in the region Itasy.

Remember that this cycle is dedicated to local organizations (NGOs, associations, groups ...) in charge of development programs.

This applied training helps strengthen the skills of these organizations by transferring expertise necessary to implement sustainable development programs focused on very small enterprises (VSE).

New Malagasy NGO, working for the economic development of countries participating in this training:

  • ANAE (National Association for Environmental Action),
  • ASA (Ankohonana Sahirana Arenina),
  • BRL Madagascar,
  • JITSIC (Center for Information, Communication, Entertainment, Education and Training),
  • CITE (Center for Economic and Technical Information),
  • CTHA (Horticultural Technical Center of Antananarivo),
  • MPE (Madagascar Dealers Livestock),
  • Tananamadio,
  • Tefy Saina.

With 4 employees Agrisud Madagascar, a total of 18 participants, were trained on methods and tools:

  • diagnosis "sustainable development"
  • implementation of projects in support of the VSE,
  • assessment, funding and communication.

The Capacity Building Program focuses on exchanges between participants, thus launching a network for exchange and cooperation between those organizations.

The French Embassy to Antananarivo, anxious to contribute to strengthening the Malagasy NGO development support, has funded the completion of this cycle.
