Launch of the 2013 farming campain in Masraspatti

Mai 2013 :

Agrisud International and its partner Himalayan Action Research Centre (HARC) support family farms in Masraspatti Panchayat for this new spices production campaign witch in starting in May.

100 families are involved in the production of turmeric, ginger, chilly and coriander. They are organized into six Farmers’ Interest Groups (FIG), federated themselves into a cooperative for spices processing and marketing: Pachawadoon Agriculture Autonomous Cooperative.


For this 2013 farming campaign, a production of 108 tons of fresh and processed spices is expected generating an annual average net household income of €. 466 (Rs. 31,700).

 
Field visit to Siem Reap by elected Hauts-de-Seine

March 2013 :

From 4 to 8 March, a delegation of elected representatives of the General Council of Hauts-de-Seine was led by Patrick Devedjian in Cambodia, one of the countries targeted by the policy department of international cooperation.

The fight against hunger and extreme poverty in Armenia, Cambodia, Haiti, Mali and Benin is the goal of decentralized cooperation policy of the General Council committed since 2008. Cambodia is a country where agricultural development programs are more advanced. To follow their progress and sign a cooperation agreement, Patrick Devedjian was in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, with Jean-Paul Dova, general counsel with responsibility for international relations and general councilors Isabelle Caullery and Martine Gouriet.

On the morning of March 6 was to visit the project Diversification Suburban Agriculture and Fight against Malnutrition in Siem Reap, implemented by Agrisud in the presence of Robert Lion, Agrisud President.

The program of the visit:
  • Visit farms gardening of Mrs. Lorn Savuth Chhorn Vong
  • Visit the poultry of Ms. Soy Sarat,
  • Promenade / discovery through rice fields and vegetable crops,
  • Meeting and discussion with farmers participating in the supply of Sofitel
  • Lunch prepared by the village farmers.


At the end of the visit, a decentralized cooperation agreement has been signed between the General Council and the province of Siem Reap, including detailed new programs for the next four years, including the continuation of the project Diversification Suburban Agriculture and Fight against Malnutrition in Siem Reap.
