Agroecology training in Madagascar |

From March 21 to 28, 13 organizations (20 people) participated in the learning cycle for Agroecology organized by Agrisud to Antanetimboahangy (Itasy Region, Madagascar). For 8 days, lots of technicians, students, researchers, coordinators of Malagasy associations and members of the Technical Support Unit of the Region Itasy worked to improve the dissemination of agroecological practices among Itasy producers.
This training session of trainers based on a transfer of methods and tools for:
understand agroecology and its economic, social and environmental purposes;

understand the fundamentals of agroecology (management elements of an agricultural system: soil, water, plant, animal and landscape);
- analyze the context of intervention and identify with the participants the appropriate agroecological practices that meet the producers constraints;
- be in capacity to disseminate practicals (technical know how and teaching method).
The purpose is twofold:
- strengthen development efforts by improving the quality of assistance to producers;
- promote the dissemination of agroecological practices in the intervention areas of Agrisud partners.
