Agroecological intensification and Diversification of family farming – Siem Reap

With the proximity of the temples of Angkor, the tourist growth of the city of Siem Reap is accompanied by a strong demand for fresh products. This demand is met largely by imports from neighboring countries, excluding small local farmers who face multiple constraints.

The actions are aimed at small family farms and focus on agroecological intensification and improving marketing. These small farms become self-sufficient in food, earn regular incomes and help supply local markets. The marketing component is particularly active, driven by growing demand for healthy and local products.

Organizing a marketing group allows small producers to seize collective economic opportunities which were previously inaccessible to them
