In Bali, the touristic sector is always expanding and requiring quality fresh products from local farms. The project has been constructed with Club Med to strengthen the quality, regularity and traceability of local supply chains.
For this purpose, a group of farmers is supported to enhance the value of their production system thanks to agroecological practices.

Professionalising periurban agriculture in Pnhom Penh – Prek Ta Lay, Kandal Province
The project "Professionalization of Agriculture in Phnom Penh, Village Prek Ta Lay, Kandal Province" was set out by Agrisud International and its local partner Agri-Cam with funding from the Aquitaine Region.
This project has a duration of 18 months (October 2010-April 2012) was the professionalization of farmers from the village of Prek Ta Lay in a sustainable development of agricultural activities and supply chains in the city of Phnom Penh.

Learning cycle promoting agroecological practices
Agrisud has a constant focus on boosting the action capacities of NGOs, organizations, professional groups, and also those of its own projects’ teams. Transfers of skills are made via « learning cycles ».
Promoting agroecological practices
Based on the “Agroecology in Practice” guide (Agrisud, 2010), this course helps participants learn these practices. It is based on transferring methods and tools to:
- Understand agroecology and its economic, social and environmental dimensions;
- Understand the sustainable management of a farming system;
- Analyze the context of operation and identify the appropriate agroecological practices;
- Be able to spread these practices.

Agroecological intensification and Diversification of family farming – Siem Reap
Avec la proximité des temples d’Angkor, la croissance touristique de la ville de Siem Reap s’accompagne d’une forte demande en produits frais. Cette demande est satisfaite en grande partie par les importations venant des pays voisins, excluant les petits agriculteurs locaux qui subissent des contraintes multiples.
Les actions visent les petites exploitations familiales et portent sur l’intensification agroécologique et sur l’amélioration de la commercialisation. Ces petites exploitations acquièrent l’autosuffisance alimentaire, obtiennent des revenus réguliers et contribuent à approvisionner les marchés locaux. Le volet commercialisation est particulièrement actif, tiré par une demande croissante pour les produits sains et locaux.
L’organisation en groupement de commercialisation permet aux petits producteurs de se saisir collectivement des opportunités économiques qui leur étaient jusqu’à présent inaccessibles.

Diversification of farm production and support to the producers of aromatic plants and spices in Sahaspur block – Northern India – Nord de l’Inde
The context is that of Sahaspur block at the periphery (25 km) Dehra Dun, capital of the state, where traditional agriculture is above all for the poor farmers, a very precarious subsistence farmers often cut off from the market.
The project objective was to sustainably improve the living conditions of the families of poor farmers by supporting them in diversifying their agricultural activities mainly aromatic crops and spices, through an organization of efficient producers.

Spices production to improve living conditions in Dehra Dun district – North of India
The goal of the Masraspatti project is to improve the life conditions of 140 poor farmer families, on a long-term basis, in 8 villages of Panchayat. Agrisud and its local partner HARC, assist those families in the development of the cultivation and processing of spice plants like ginger, turmeric, pepper or coriander.

Forestry and agroecology in the mountains of northern Laos / districts of Viengkham and Pakxeng – Luang Prabang Province
After a first successful operation between 2009 and 2012, the goal of this project is to keep fighting against the poverty of people living in the mountains in northern Laos. For that purpose, the natural resources have to be rehabilitated, safeguarded and valued (water, soil, biodiversity).
The project will also adapt to climate change and mitigate its consequences (agricultural systems’ resilience, reduction of greenhouse gas emission and carbon sequestration).

Enhancing Nutrition of Upland Farming Families (ENUFF) in Oudomxay and Huaphan provinces
Laos launched its National Nutrition Plan for populations living in isolated mountainous areas where undernutrition still persists.
It is a complex task that requires action on multiple levels and long-term interventions for effective and sustainable results. Agrisud in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) engages in an innovative and dynamic project by means of an integrated approach that links agriculture with nutrition.
Project ENUFF (Enhancing Nutrition for Upland Farming Families) is implemented in 40 mountainous villages. The agricultural aspect of the project has been taken over by Agrisud. Its goal is to improve agricultural techniques thanks to agroecology, to diversify crops and establish marketing sectors. Access to healthy and adequate food is one of the main factors that improve nutrition in Laos.
