Agrisud attended the Paris International Agricultural Show, which took place this year from February 24th to March 4th, to speak about agro-ecological transitions and to promote its crowdfunding project.
AFD-CIRAD conference: “Agroecology: a solution for the agricultural transition in the global South?”
The two institutions have collaborated to inform the public on the issue of agroecology in the countries of the South, and how it changes our approach to agriculture in the North as in the South.
Agrisud and its partner AVSF have been invited to participate in the roundtable discussions about progress and challenges in agro-ecological transition.
Both speeches highlighted the work done by the GTAE, of which the two NGOs are members. Frédéric Apollin from AVSF gave feedbacks on the CALAO project conducted in 2017 in West Africa. Yvonnick Huet from Agrisud spoke about the results of the international workshop organized last december and which aimed to build an objective evaluation method of dynamic agro-ecological transitions.
Crowdfunding:“Supporting family and agro-ecological farming”
On February 16th, Agrisud launched a project on the crowdfunding platform MiiMOSA.
This project is to adapt the practical guide “Managing Advice for agricultural Very Small Entreprises” (designed by Agrisud in 2015) to the Asian context and audience to which it operates. This guide will also provide training sessions best suited to these countries (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, …).
If the funding goal is reached and thanks to the partnership with the Avril Foundation, which doubles the donations, it will be possible to update Agrisud’s 2nd guide: “Agroecology in practice” (2010).
This is the opportunity for those who wish to ACT in favor of family farming and agroecology, to concretely participate in one of our projects.

Being immersed during 2 days in this great French agriculture event has been rich in meetings and exchanges.
In both North and South, the issues are not really different, and agricultural transitions towards an agro-ecological intensification bring relevant and finally very modern answers. For these answers, North and South can and should inspire each other.
